Thanksgiving was so much fun. We have so much to be thankful for and we count our blessings everyday. Thank you God!
My parents and Kevin's parents came to our house this year on Thanksgiving. It was such a nice treat having everyone together and Cole and Landrey loved it! Thanks for comming Grammy, Granddaddy, Grandmother and Grandpa.
Here are a few pictures!

Pumpkin Patch
Last week we went to the pumpkin patch! There is just something invigorating about going to the pumkin patch; I love it! We went with my friend Nikki and her little boy. We all had a fun time, but it was extremely muddy. And, as luck would have it, Landrey fell in the mud within five minutes of us being there. But, I still got some really cute pictures and a perfect pumpkin.

It's soccer season again!
Cole had his first soccer game this weekend. He did great! It is amazing to me how much he has improved since last fall. We have moved from, "Look Coach an airplane!" (during the game I might add) to "Go team!" I am so proud of him. Even his coach said, "Wow! Cole has a really strong kick!" Go Jaguars!

We just got back from Virginia. What a great trip, and we really enjoyed getting to see you Aunt Jenn. We miss you already. Our fun events included picking blackberries at the Berry Farm, going to Lurray Caverns, riding the rides at King's Dominion (Cole's first rollercoasters), fishing and swimming in the Potomac River, and, of course, hanging out at Aunt Jenn's house. We can't wait to go back and visit. Check out our Smilebox to see our fun pictures! Sorry some of the pictures are blurry...camera difficulties.

First Week of Summer
Our first week of summer was a blast. We went to the zoo, had a playdate, stayed up late every night, and went to our new lot to cook hot dogs and have a campfire. It is so nice to be free of a set schedule. Cole wakes up every morning and says, "Is there school today?" I keep telling him it is summer, but he doesn't quite get it.

Our new pet
Over the weekend Cole got a hermit crab. He is doing such a great job taking care of it. The lady at the store asked him what he was going to name it. He did not hesitate one second, "Sam," he replied. Okay. Sam it is. I have no idea where he got that name, but it did make me laugh. He wants to feed it constantly, play with it nonstop, and today when it was raining...he wanted to rush home to check to make sure Sam was not scared. I think it is good that he have something to take care of; and to leave you with another quote from Cole: "Hermit crabs don't die, right?" Let's hope not. :)

The first time...
It was bound to happen and it did...Cole caught his first frog! He was so excited!! My first thought was EWWW...I am not cut out to be a mom of a boy. But, then after seeing how thrilled he was, I couldn't resist being excited also. He named him Hopper and played with him for a long time. He put him in a large bowl and carried him around for the whole evening. When it was time to let him go, we released him into the creek. For three days after, he looked for, caught, and played with the same frog. I think it lives under our slide.
It was also Landrey's first time to ride the rocking horse that Granddad made when Cole was her age. I have attached a picture of her riding it and one of Cole riding it when he was the same age (16 months). She can ride it all by herself and absolutely loves to make it go back and forth. She is constantly wanting to ride. Ride 'em cowgirl!

Crying in the Bluebonnets
Ever want to do something and it just not work out the way you had planned? Well, yesterday I had the great idea of going to take bluebonnet pictures...along side the road, all dressed up...in the evening. WHAT WAS I THINKING? It started out okay, but went downhill from there. By the end, both of my kiddos were crying! I was pretty disappointed. We got all dressed up and I did not get one single good picture of the two of them together. SO,we are going to forever remember this as "crying in the bluebonnets". Maybe I will get brave and try again?!
You can definitely tell by the end that they just wanted to go home. I was happy to do so.

She's walking!
Our little girl, who is 14 months today, started walking on Tuesday. Finally! She has been a little stubborn about this. At Cole's soccer practice she took two steps. On Wednesday when I picked her up from "school", they said, "Oh guess what, she stood up...". I interrupted them and said, "I know. She took two steps last night!" They started laughing and handed me a certificate that said she had walked five steps. They told me that sometimes they don't like to say anything until the parents know. I thought that was considerate. Then last night, Thursday, she was walking across the whole kitchen! She was so funny to watch. I love the way they toddle with their arms sticking straight out! Cole thought this whole thing was amazing and screamed, "She's walking!!!" I think I might be in for it now!

Outdoor fun!
Since the weather is getting warmer, and it is staying lighter a little longer, we have have been playing outside when we get home from school. The latest fun thing to do is drive the Gator. Cole loves to drive it around in the backyard, and Landrey "insists" on riding along; and by that I mean grunting until we put her in it. He is so careful with her and makes sure that he drives slowly. He even puts his arm around her while he drives. It is just too cute that I had to take a picture.

Is that a chicken pox?
Yep! Cole came home from school and said, "I need lotion; I have a dry spot." Well, I lifted his shirt and sure enough...15 spots. He had the chicken pox. He of course started jumping up and down on the bed yelling, "I have chicken spots...I have chicken spots...I don't have to go to school!" Oh my goodness, what are we going to do with him? We counted them and he had 15 but by bathtime he had 29. Of course, we had to have a cookie to make him feel better, thus the chocolate face.
I am happy to report that he is doing much better now, and he will be going to school on Monday.

Cole is four!
Cole had a birthday on January 23rd. We celebrated at home on Friday night, and then had his party on Saturday. His party was where he wanted it...Jump Extreme. He was so excited about sitting in the huge inflatable chair. In fact, that is all we heard about for several days leading up to the actual day. He had fun playing with all his friends. We are so proud of the little guy that he has become. Happy fourth birthday.

We had Landrey's first birthday party on Saturday. She was so cute and we all had a great time watching her open her presents and eat cake. She liked us singing happy birthday to her and then really enjoyed sticking her finger in the icing. Grammy made the beautiful cake--thanks Grammy!

Landrey is one year old today, January 6th. We can hardly believe it. She is such a blessing to this family and a joy to love. It is amazing how much she can already do. She is "cruising", waving hi and bye, and pretending to talk on the phone! She says hi and tries to say Cole, "Ca". I have put together a slideshow to celebrate her first year. Happy 1st Birthday Landrey.
